Job summary

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting – Rockhampton QLD is partnering with a mining operation near Blackwater, QLD to source an experienced Senior HR Advisor. This site-based role reports to the HR Manager as 2IC and focuses on complex ER/IR work and building capability for the site HR function.

The contract runs until December 2027 with a 5/2 roster and one RDO per month. Local candidates or DIDO from surrounding areas are welcome, with accommodation options available.

Qualifications

• Previous site-based HR Advisor experience is essential (non-negotiable).
• Strong ER/IR experience, with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive cases end to end.
• Sound knowledge of employment legislation and industrial frameworks.
• Ability to build credibility quickly and influence at all levels of the business.
• Calm under pressure and comfortable with ambiguity and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with leaders to provide practical, solutions-focused HR advice.
• Act as 2IC to the HR Manager, supporting day-to-day leadership and site priorities.
• Lead and manage complex employee relations and industrial relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, disputes, and escalations.
• Coach leaders through challenging people scenarios with confidence and clarity.
• Support the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding.
• Drive engagement, culture, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Use data and insights to inform workforce decisions and identify trends.
• Ensure consistent, compliant application of policies and site processes.
• Coach and develop the HR Officer, building capability and strengthening the site HR function.
• Drive improvements in HR systems, processes, and ways of working.

About the Opportunity

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is partnering with a mining operation near Blackwater, QLD to source an experienced Senior HR Advisor. This is a site-based role acting as 2IC to the HR Manager, ideal for someone who thrives on complex ER/IR work and wants to build the capability of a site HR function.

This is a fixed term contract role, running until the end of December 2027, on a site-based 5/2 roster with one RDO per month. Candidates can be local to Blackwater or DIDO from the surrounding areas.

No flights are provided.
