Job summary

Pullman Sydney Airport is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the hotel's Engineering and Maintenance teams, ensuring safety, reliability, and guest comfort.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will manage preventative maintenance, energy efficiency initiatives, contractor interfaces, and compliance with WHS and fire safety. This role demands strong technical leadership and a proactive, collaborative approach to hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience leading an Engineering or Maintenance team in a large hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of building services, preventative maintenance and hotel operations.
• Experience with WHS and fire safety compliance.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to respond to critical emergencies outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support the Engineering team to achieve high standards of performance.
• Plan and oversee preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and daily activities.
• Ensure facilities and building systems are maintained to the highest standards.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and minimise operational disruption.
• Maintain maintenance records, inspections and statutory documentation.
• Oversee contractor safety, compliance and performance.
• Prepare reports and contribute to CAPEX proposals.
• Collaborate with hotel departments to resolve maintenance matters.
