Job summary

AECOM in Perth, WA is seeking a Highways Engineer to lead geometric design for highways, arterials and interchanges across Western Australia. You will deliver MRWA-aligned concept to detail designs, prepare reports, and manage interfaces with drainage and pavement teams.

You will collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental specialists, coordinate with MRWA and clients, and contribute to planning, proposals and fee estimates while working in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• At least five years' experience in road/highway engineering with MRWA project delivery in WA.
• Strong knowledge of MRWA Engineering Road Note series, Austroads guides and Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform geometric design for highways, arterial roads, intersections and interchanges.
• Prepare concept, preliminary and detailed designs per MRWA requirements and Austroads standards.
• Produce design reports, drawings, specs and construction packages; coordinate drainage and pavements.
• Support road safety assessments, reviews and design quality checks.
• Lead tasks to meet quality, budget and programme objectives with cross-disciplinary teams.
