Job summary

Bupa is seeking a BMVS Governance Lead in Melbourne, Victoria. You will strengthen clinical and operational governance across BMVS, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations while translating data into practical improvements.

You will work with clinical, operational, risk and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement, strengthen governance practices and enhance customer outcomes across BMVS and related stakeholder groups.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a first line of defence role, preferably in a customer-facing business.
• Experience in assurance within a highly regulated industry.
• Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Business, Nursing or Allied Health.
• Strong expertise in incident and complaint management, including investigation and remediation.
• Experience working within a matrix organisation and government contracting environment.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders across different areas of a business.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to simplify complex information.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining an outcomes-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee end-to-end incident and complaint management, from investigation to remediation and closure.
• Maintain oversight of corrective actions from audits, incidents, complaints, and regulatory reviews.
• Lead and support risk and compliance assessments to strengthen BMVS control environment.
• Coordinate contractual and departmental plans, ensuring currency and compliance.
• Coordinate governance data and deliver quarterly governance reporting across BMVS units, APAC and Board.
• Support internal and external audit requirements, including coordination and reporting.
• Identify emerging risks and opportunities for continuous improvement using data and insights.
• Provide governance oversight across BMVS Communities of Practice and chair key forums.
