Job summary

dnata catering & retail Australia is seeking a Group Accountant to oversee financial reporting, month-end, compliance, audit and taxation, while driving improvements. You will mentor the Finance team and partner with operations to enhance performance and cost control.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role involves leading month-end close, delivering insights to senior stakeholders, and supporting budgeting and business planning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a complex, high-volume or multi-site environment.
• Strong technical accounting capability and IFRS understanding.
• Proven experience across month-end, financial reporting, audit and statutory compliance.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems capability.

About the role

Join dnata catering & retail Australia as our newest Group Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll oversee financial reporting, month-end, compliance, audit and taxation, while providing commercial insights and driving continuous improvement.

As a trusted 2IC, you will also support the Financial Controller in mentoring and developing the Finance team and building technical capability. Responsibilities include:

• Lead the end-to-end month-end close and preparation of monthly management accounts

About you

You are an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment. You will bring:

• Significant experience in a complex, high-volume or multi‑site environment
• Strong technical accounting capability and a solid understanding of IFRS
• Proven experience across month‑end, financial reporting, audit and statutory compliance
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning
• Strong leadership and stakeholder skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes
• Advanced Excel and financial systems capability
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a strong eye for detail and a practical approach to solving problems
