Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to develop and validate FPGA-based networking solutions for a satellite broadband system. You will own digital designs, run from RTL to lab validation, and collaborate with systems and hardware teams to deliver high-performance FPGA implementations.

The role requires 7+ years in FPGA design with SystemVerilog, experience with Xilinx/AMD FPGAs, and Python test scripting. U.S.

Qualifications

• 7+ years FPGA design and implementation using SystemVerilog.
• Experience with modern ASIC/FPGA design and verification tools.
• Experience in writing test scripts (Python preferred) to validate FPGA images in HW.
• Experience with Xilinx/AMD FPGAs (or Altera).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with uArchitecture, RTL coding, FPGA timing & power, simulation, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more FPGA bitstreams and manage their development lifecycle from RTL to timing closure and lab validation.
• Create and release FPGAs through development phases: uArchitecture-RTL Design-Physical Implementation-Timing Closure–Simulation Validation–Lab Based Silicon Validation.
• Collaborate with network architects to define/design/implement/test/release/support networking functions for FPGA technology.
• Collaborate with Digital Communications/Networking teams to implement digital logic in FPGAs.
• Collaborate with system architects to validate architecture options using FPGA prototypes.
• Work with HW/SW teams to bring up systems combining FPGA, firmware, RF, and networking functions.
• Drive trade-off analyses to optimize cost, size, power, performance, and features for customers.
