Mackay Regional Council is seeking a Senior Specialist to apply flood and stormwater expertise across planning, modelling and infrastructure strategy for the Mackay region. The role influences investment decisions and development outcomes while supporting resilience and waterways protection.

The position is temporary through to March 2027, offering strategic input, cross-team collaboration and engagement with external consultants and government agencies.

Competenze

• Significant experience in planning, design and construction of public infrastructure.
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modelling and 2D flood modelling.
• Knowledge of standards, regulations and risk management.

Mansioni

• Lead development and implementation of flood mitigation and stormwater strategies.
• Manage flood modelling across the Mackay area and coordinate with consultants.
• Support asset management planning for flood mitigation infrastructure.
• Contribute to Local Government Infrastructure Plan and cost assessments.
• Provide authoritative guidance to senior leaders and project teams.
• Prepare technical reports and briefing materials for Council.
