Job summary

Taylor Thomson Whitting seeks a Senior Flood Engineer to join our Sydney team, leading flood modelling, stormwater, urban development and infrastructure projects across Australia. You will mentor junior engineers and deliver sustainable, innovative solutions in collaboration with the Associate Flood Engineer.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
8+ years of civil engineering, flood modelling and flood management experience.
Strong proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling and GIS workflows (TUFLOW, RORB/WBNM, HEC-RAS, DRAINS).
Knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC/BCA, and local government approval processes.
Proven project and client management capability with effective leadership.

Responsibilities

Manage medium to large-scale flood engineering projects, including planning, budgeting, schedules, and delivery.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development to staff.
Ensure safety, timeliness, budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes.
Apply advanced engineering expertise to deliver innovative, practical solutions.
Manage contractual and commercial aspects, ensuring compliance with legislation and TTW policies.
Build relationships with clients and stakeholders and identify new business opportunities.
Support workforce planning and TTW strategic objectives.
