Job summary

GHD is seeking a skilled Flood Modeller to join our NSW/ACT team and work across Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, Wollongong, or regional NSW offices. You will develop TUFLOW hydraulic models and perform ARR-based hydrologic assessments, delivering flood studies and FRM studies for major projects.

The role involves multidisciplinary collaboration, client relationship management, mentoring juniors, and contributing to business development.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related discipline.
5–12 years of experience in a consulting environment.
Strong experience in flood modelling, hydrology, or water resources consulting.
Strong TUFLOW capability including model development and calibration.
Sound understanding and practical application of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR).

Responsibilities

Developing and applying TUFLOW hydraulic models and ARR-based hydrologic assessments.
Delivering flood studies, floodplain risk management studies, and development impact assessments.
Managing multidisciplinary projects, maintaining client relationships, and coordinating stakeholders.
Collaborating across water resources, civil engineering, environmental services and planning; mentoring juniors.
Contributing to business development by identifying opportunities and preparing proposals.
