Job summary

SSA Recruitment Group is partnering with a leading engineering consultancy to appoint a Senior Flood Engineer in Sydney. You will lead flood modelling and management on major Australian projects, mentoring junior engineers and engaging with clients and authorities.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years’ civil/flood engineering experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and strong skills in TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, GIS and stormwater modelling. Flexible working options may be available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of civil/flood engineering experience.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong experience in flood modelling and flood management.
• Proficiency with TUFLOW, RORB/WBNM, HEC-RAS and GIS.
• Experience with DRAINS/stormwater modelling is highly regarded.
• Understanding of Australian design standards and local/state approval processes.
• Residential subdivision experience across earthworks, roads and drainage advantageous.
• Strong project management, communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead flood modelling and flood management projects across Australia.
• Work across urban development, stormwater and infrastructure projects.
• Manage project delivery, budgets, programmes and technical outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Build strong relationships with clients, authorities and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals, business development and winning new work.
• Develop practical, innovative and commercially sound engineering solutions.
