SSA Consulting Group in Sydney is seeking a Senior Flood Engineer to lead flood modelling and project delivery on major Australian developments. The role offers technical leadership, client exposure and a path to greater responsibility within a growing team.

You will apply advanced flood modelling tools and engage with authorities, planning teams and stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially sound solutions on urban development, stormwater and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in civil/flood engineering.
• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proficiency in flood modelling tools.
• Experience with Australian design standards.
• Subdivision earthworks/drainage experience helpful.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Senior Flood Engineer | Sydney

Join a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy and work on major projects across Australia.

I am seeking an experienced Senior Flood Engineer to join a growing Sydney team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take on greater technical leadership, project responsibility and client exposure.

The Opportunity

• Lead flood modelling and flood management projects across Australia
• Work across urban development, stormwater and infrastructure projects
• Manage project delivery, budgets, programmes and technical outcomes
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
• Build strong relationships with clients, authorities and project stakeholders
• Contribute to proposals, business development and winning new work
• Develop practical, innovative and commercially sound engineering solutions

About You

• 8+ years’ experience in civil/flood engineering
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Strong experience in flood modelling and flood management
• Proficiency with TUFLOW, RORB/WBNM, HEC-RAS and GIS
• Experience with DRAINS/stormwater modelling highly regarded
• Understanding of Australian design standards and local/state approval processes
• Residential subdivision experience across earthworks, roads and drainage advantageous
• Strong project management, communication and client-facing skills
