Job description

Engineering for People, Place, Legacy.

Since 1958, TTW has been solving complex engineering problems for the people and places they serve. We're Australian owned, and we've grown by staying true to the quality work, honest relationships, and a genuine commitment to our clients and communities.

Our strength is our people. We support talented engineers to do their best work, and we invest in helping them grow. That's how we've earned our reputation for smart, sustainable engineering solutions across the sectors we know best.

Our Opportunity

We are seeking expressions of interest from Senior Flood Engineer to join our growing Sydney team.

In this role, you will work on a diverse portfolio of flood modelling, stormwater, urban development, and infrastructure projects across Australia. Working closely with the Associate Flood Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, deliver high-quality flood engineering solutions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the successful delivery of innovative and sustainable projects.

At TTW, you'll enjoy modern office facilities, a collaborative and inclusive culture, flexible working arrangements, and the opportunity to work on some of Australia's most exciting engineering projects.

In this role, you will
  • Manage medium to large-scale projects, including fee proposals, tender submissions, project planning, resource allocation, budgets, schedules, and technical delivery.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development to engineers and technical staff.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while exceeding client expectations.
  • Apply advanced engineering expertise to deliver practical, innovative, and commercially effective solutions.
  • Manage the technical, contractual, and commercial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and TTW policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify business development opportunities and contribute to winning new work and growing existing client relationships.
  • Support workforce planning, resource management, and the implementation of TTW's strategic objectives.
Who are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in civil engineering, flood modelling and flood management projects, with exposure to residential subdivision design (earthworks, roads, drainage, water and sewer) highly regarded.
  • Strong technical proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling and GIS workflows, including TUFLOW, RORB/WBNM, HEC-RAS and DRAINS, with stormwater modelling experience desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of local government and State approval processes, with sound knowledge of Australian Standards and LGA road and drainage design principles.
  • Proven project and client management capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA) and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Proven project management skills, including commercial, financial, and resource management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for developing people and building long-term client relationships.
Why Join TTW?

Our people are what make TTW who we are. We focus on giving you an environment where you can thrive both professionally and personally.

  • Here's what that looks like:
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • A strong focus on work-life balance
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives
  • Ongoing learning and professional development opportunities
  • Career progression within a collaborative global team
  • Exposure to diverse and challenging engineering projects
