Job summary

City of Canterbury Bankstown Council in NSW seeks a Senior Manager to lead the Fleet Unit, directing strategic and operational fleet services to be safe, efficient, sustainable and aligned with council priorities.

You will oversee three depots, manage budgets, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with HVNL and CoR, delivering high-quality fleet outcomes for the community.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications and/or 10+ years’ experience in Fleet Management.
• IPWEA Fleet Management Certificate.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary fleet teams (light/heavy vehicles, plant).
• Strong people leadership, performance management and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in change management and continuous improvement.
• Experience using fleet management systems to plan short/medium/long-term service.
• Ability to develop business plans and 10-year capital replacement programs within HVNL/CoR.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of a 10-year rolling fleet capital works program and fleet management systems.
• Oversee fleet management for light and heavy vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Ensure servicing and maintenance is delivered on time and within budget.
• Engage stakeholders to align fleet services with strategies and service levels.
• Drive innovation, agility and continuous improvement in operations.
• Promote Council values through leadership and professional conduct.
• Ensure HVNL and CoR compliance.
