Job summary

AECOM Brisbane seeks a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to lead fire engineering across buildings and places projects. Based in Brisbane, you will drive performance-based design, determine safe strategies and manage complex client projects through to occupancy.

You'll mentor teammates, support accreditation and coordinate with stakeholders while navigating the Building Code of Australia and Australian Guidelines. Hybrid work options and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Fire Safety Engineer.
• Engineering qualification, preferably in Fire Engineering.
• Deep understanding of the Building Code of Australia and Australian Fire Engineering Guidelines.
• Experience leading fire engineering projects and securing approval from authorities.
• Experience preparing Performance-Based Design Briefs, Fire Engineering Reports and Fire Engineering Strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide substantial technical expertise of fire engineering, from first principles to leading large‑scale projects from concept stage through to building occupation.
• Manage client relationships and project coordination across a variety of markets.
• Develop performance‑based fire engineering strategies across a range of building types.
• Mentor team members and support professional accreditation where appropriate.
