Job summary

AECOM in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our national Building Engineering team on a variety of fire protection design projects.

You will work across all project phases, ensuring high-quality, code-compliant solutions using wet and dry fire protection systems, with mentorship for junior engineers. The role supports hybrid work arrangements and regional client delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Engineer.
• Degree and professional registrations (or eligible), including RPEQ.
• Understanding of Fire Suppression, Hydrants, Hose Reels, and Fire Water supply.
• Understanding of Fire Detection, Alarm Systems, Emergency Warning, and Networking.

Responsibilities

• Involvement in all phases of fire protection project design and delivery from concept to construction.
• Design and implement fire protection systems compliant with Australian Standards and NCC.
• Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines on large projects.
• Ensure designs meet authority regulations and client standards for safety and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across projects.
