Job summary

AECOM Brisbane seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to join our national Building Engineering team. You will contribute to a range of projects from concept through commissioning, focused on fire protection design and compliance with NCC and Australian Standards.

Your role includes designing hydrant, sprinkler and detection systems, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and mentoring junior staff to uphold technical excellence across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a Fire Protection Engineer in an engineering consultancy or contractor with design exposure.
• Degree and professional registrations (or eligible) including progression to RPEQ.
• Strong understanding of Fire suppression, detection, alarm, and water-based systems and NCC compliance.

Responsibilities

• Be involved in all phases of fire protection project design and delivery from concept to construction and commissioning.
• Design and implement fire protection systems including hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers and alternative suppression.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines on large projects to develop integrated fire protection solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with NCC, Australian Standards and local regulations; meet client standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across projects.
