Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer in Brisbane to lead complex fire protection projects from concept to commissioning. You will oversee technical delivery across sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, detection and alarm networks, extinguishers and fire blankets, while coordinating with architects, contractors and end users.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of fire protection consulting experience within the building services industry.
Degree qualified in engineering with chartered status (CPEng) or equivalent registered engineer (e.g., RPEQ).
Experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of the NCC and Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

Plan and manage projects from initial concept to installation and commissioning.
Provide technical oversight and supervision for fire protection services, including sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, detection and warning systems, extinguishers and blankets.
Prepare drawings and calculations to validate performance against Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards.
Develop and present presentations to external clients and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
