Job summary

RecruitR Pty is recruiting a Fire Protection Designer/Engineer with about 5+ years of industry experience. The role focuses on wet fire systems design, from concept through delivery, across hospitals, defence, mining, aviation and more in Queensland.

You will work with senior Fire Engineers and specialists to expand technical knowledge and project leadership. Join a specialist fire consultancy known for delivering exceptional fire solutions and growing your career beyond sprinkler layouts.

Qualifications

• Fire protection designer/engineer with ~5+ years' industry experience.
• Experience in fire consultancy or fire contracting environments.
• Experience designing wet fire systems (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels).
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant compliance requirements.
• Ability to independently manage project deliverables, programmes and budgets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine passion for technical excellence and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complex fire protection projects from concept through to completion.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and design deliverables.
• Coordinate architects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in client meetings and design workshops.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs and support projects during construction.
• Balance technical excellence with project timeframes, budgets and client expectations.
• Mentor junior designers as experience grows.
