Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer in Australia to design and deliver active and sprinkler protection systems across major projects. You will collaborate with the digital team, engineers, architects, and clients to integrate fire safety solutions from concept through commissioning.

You will bring at least five years of experience, strong NCC knowledge, and proven ability to coordinate design across disciplines while maintaining quality and scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or Diploma in Fire Protection Services.
• Approx 5 years or more of experience in fire protection engineering consultancy, contracting, industrial facilities, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian fire protection standards and regulations.
• Experience designing and reviewing fire protection systems.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive and solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Fire protection system design development and delivery.
• Sprinkler system design with hydraulic calculations and layouts.
• Coordinate fire protection within project models and resolve clashes.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports.
• Support project delivery from design through commissioning and close-out.
• Site inspections and construction support.
• Apply design procedures and quality processes across projects.
