Job summary

Thomas Borthwick & Sons (Australia) Pty Ltd, a major beef processing operation near Mackay, seeks a Finance Manager to guide financial strategy and reporting. Lead the finance team, provide critical insights, and support executive decision-making for a high-volume production environment.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, audits, and internal controls while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive performance.

Qualifications

• A degree in Finance, Management, or a related field.
• CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification (or working towards).
• Broad administrative experience with meticulous attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and database management.
• Strong ability to build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop business plans, forecasts, financial performance metrics.
• Analyse manufacturing processes to ensure optimal financial outcomes.
• Review and negotiate key contracts for best outcomes.
• Complete month end closing procedures and monthly reporting.
• Liaise with external and internal auditors for audits.
• Ensure compliance with tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Review capital expenditure and maintain fixed assets register.
• Manage, supervise, and develop Finance team.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls (JSOX).
