Job summary

Senior Finance Analyst – Motor Claims at Suncorp Group in Sydney is a stakeholder-facing role partnering with Motor Claims and Finance leaders to improve financial performance across a large portfolio.

You will own budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting while translating complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for a broad range of stakeholders, supporting informed business decisions and ongoing development.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in finance roles within large organisations.
  • Experience within the insurance industry is essential, with knowledge of claims, insurance finance or related drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with and influencing stakeholders across business and finance functions.
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting capability with ability to manage timelines and priorities end to end.
  • Advanced data skills, including experience working with large datasets and Power Query.
  • Ability to simplify reporting and communicate financial insights clearly and commercially.
  • Degree in business, finance or related discipline with commitment to ongoing development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver month end and year end reporting, including journals, estimates, and performance commentary for the Motor Claims portfolio
  • Analyse claims performance against budget and forecast, providing clear insights to support decision-making
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance and Claims to manage budgeting and forecasting cycles end to end, with variance analysis as required
  • Build and enhance reporting focusing on clarity, automation and usability
  • Identify and implement process improvements to simplify reporting and reduce manual effort
  • Work across large datasets to turn complex information into practical insights
  • Collaborate across functional teams and mentor juniors within the team

About The Role

This stakeholder-facing role partners with Motor Claims and Finance leaders to improve financial performance across a large portfolio. You will own core BAU activities including budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting while providing insights that influence business decisions.

Working with complex datasets, you'll translate financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for a broad range of stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
