Job summary

VOCUS is seeking a Senior Fibre Network Designer to deliver high‑quality fibre network designs and cost estimates for complex projects. You will own end‑to‑end route design, develop documentation and support build delivery while ensuring safety, standards and regulatory compliance.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams, contractors and vendors to ensure designs are buildable, resilient and delivered on time, with mentorship available based on experience.

Qualifications

• 5+years experience in fibre network planning, design and delivery.
• 8+years experience for a Senior Fibre Network Designer in complex networks.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Telecommunications.
• Strong experience in Fibre Network Design Fundamentals (OSP/ISP, aerial and underground).
• Experience with GIS costing, estimation and CAD tools for network records.
• Ability to follow commercial agreements and binding documents.
• Structured problem solving and escalation management.
• Coordinator role with contractors, vendors and field teams.
• Stakeholder communication, negotiation and customer focus with costing acumen.

Responsibilities

• Own or contribute to complex fibre route designs and design documentation.
• Produce design deliverables, enable build delivery and maintain records.
• Support preventative maintenance and network reliability.
• Monitor capacity, utilisation and drive data‑driven decisions.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors and vendors to meet milestones.
