Job summary

Facade Innovations Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced facade drafting professional in New South Wales to prepare and review detailed architectural and panel drawings for complex projects. The role requires extensive Autocad knowledge and a minimum of 10 years in commercial facade drafting, with Australian work rights.

You will liaise with Architects, Builders, and Consultants to resolve design issues, while coordinating with project and purchasing teams to meet tight deadlines and production

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial facade drafting experience is essential.
• Extensive knowledge of Autocad is essential.
• Australian work rights are required for this position.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, technically accurate drawings.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check detailed engineering drawings for architectural approval based on layouts, structures, and tender packages.
• Develop and review 2D/3D shop drawings, panel drawings, bar drawings, and component details for manufacturing and site install.
• Perform calculations to prepare and check Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
• Assist in estimating material requirements and purchasing within project budgets.
• Liaise with Architects, Builders, Structural Consultants, and Owners to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Production Managers, and Purchasing Officers to align drafting outputs with production timelines.
• Prepare and manage project design and drafting schedules across concurrent projects.
• Issue and respond to RFIs and project correspondence via phone, email, and CDEs (Aconex, TeamBinder).
• Maintain project files, issue registers, transmittals, and drawing packages for internal and client use.

Job description

1. Prepare and check detailed engineering drawings for architectural approval, setting up drawings and details based on architectural layouts, structural designs, and tender packages.

2. Develop and review 2D and 3D shop drawings, panel drawings, bar drawings, and small parts/component details required for precise manufacturing and site installation.

3. Perform detailed mathematical calculations to prepare and check Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for precise quantity verification.

4. Assist in estimating material requirements and executing component/material purchasing within defined project budgets.

5. Liaise directly with Architects, Builders, Structural Consultants, and Owners to resolve preliminary and detailed engineering/design issues.

6. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Production Managers, and Purchasing Officers to align drafting outputs with production capabilities and project timelines.

7. Prepare and manage project design and drafting schedules across multiple concurrent projects to meet strict contractual deadlines.

8. Issue and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and formal project correspondence via phone, email, and web-based Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as Aconex and TeamBinder.

9. Maintain comprehensive electronic and hard-copy project files, issue registers, transmittals, and drawing packages for both internal distribution and external client issue.
