Job summary

Supersuite in Beverley, SA is seeking a skilled facade drafting professional to take designs from architectural intent through to shop drawings, fabrication detailing and on-site delivery.

You'll work closely with our workshop and major client teams, coordinating complex facade packages and ensuring drawings align with project timelines and standards. This role offers hands-on involvement across the fabrication cycle and direct impact on landmark projects in South Australia.

Qualifications

• Four+ years CAD experience for construction, fabrication or manufacturing.
• Strong 3D CAD skills with SolidWorks preferred; Inventor or Rhino translate well.
• Knowledge of laser cutting, CNC machining, brake processing and metal fabrication.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings and spot inconsistencies early.
• Clear written and verbal communication to coordinate project detail with managers, workshop and site staff.
• Able to run your own packages and pull in the team when needed.

Responsibilities

• 3D CAD model facade, cladding and steel packages, through to shop drawings for approvals.
• Contribute to concept development from early sketch to final documentation.
• Prepare fabrication documentation and CAD/CAM output and work with workshop staff.
• Interpret specs and drawings, identifying scope, features and risks early.
• Extract quantities and material estimates from 3D models.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, PMs and site staff, including on-site inspection.
• Manage drawing revisions and document control to CAD standards.

Supersuite is a design and drafting studio in Beverley. We design and document commercial facades and prefabricated construction for major projects in South Australia and nationally — aluminium facade systems, curtain wall, GRC and resin composite forms, structural steel & sheet metal.

Why this role is different

Most facade drafting roles are one seat in a documentation line. Ours isn't. The team is small enough that you'll take a package from architectural intent through to shop drawings, fabrication detailing, preparation for manufacture and on-site delivery, work directly with the workshop on how it gets built, and see it go up.

We're a team of five. You'd also work alongside our major client's team day to day, so a good part of the role is coordinating directly with them.

What you'll do

• 3D CAD model facade, cladding and structural steel packages, through to shop drawings for architectural, engineering and builder approval
• Contribute to concept development on design-and-construct projects, from early sketch development to final documentation
• Prepare fabrication documentation and CAD/CAM output, and work alongside workshop staff through production
• Interpret architectural and structural specifications and drawings, identifying scope, key features and risks early
• Extract quantities and material estimates from 3D models
• Liaise with architects, engineers, project managers and site staff, including on-site inspection of facade elements
• Manage drawing revisions and document control to our CAD and drafting standards

What you'll need

• Four + years of CAD experience, drafting for construction, fabrication or manufacturing
• Strong 3D CAD skills — SolidWorks preferred, Inventor or Rhino translate well
• Working knowledge of laser cutting, CNC machining, brake processing, rolling and general metal fabrication processes
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings, spot inconsistencies and raise them early
• Clear written and verbal communication to coordinate project detail directly with project managers, workshop and on-site staff
• Comfortable running your own packages and pulling in the team when you need to
• Able to work to delivery programmes and critical path milestones
• Strong general IT and spreadsheet skills
• Disciplined digital organisation and document management

Helpful, not essential

• Facade, curtain wall or cladding experience
• Structural steel, sheet metal or general metal fabrication drafting
• Prefabricated construction methodology
• Experience with 3D scanning and point cloud survey data as modelling reference
• Mechanical CAD design background — assembly modelling or manufactured products
• Relevant degree, diploma or TAFE qualification

About the wider business

Supersuite is also a product design and commercialisation consultancy — that's the work on our website. The facade and construction side runs as a separate arm with its own clients, and it's where this role sits. A product or industrial design background is useful here, and there are occasional crossover work opportunities — but this is a facade and construction drafting role.
