Job summary

DFP Recruitment in Mackay is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead complex estimating projects for a Queensland Government team in building construction and maintenance. The role requires strong leadership capabilities and extensive estimating knowledge for diverse projects.

You will manage estimators, prepare tenders and ensure compliance with procurement policies while maintaining client relationships and promoting safety and inclusion across the project portfolio.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Estimators and support staff to achieve project delivery objectives.
• Manage the delivery of estimating programs and projects, particularly those that are medium to high risk, significant or complex in nature.
• Prepare high-quality estimates, quotations and tender documentation for building construction and maintenance projects.
• Ensure compliance with State Purchasing Policy, Minor Works frameworks, procurement requirements and client specifications.
• Undertake research and development activities relating to project planning, budgeting, estimating methodologies, delivery processes and procurement practices.
• Monitor and report on estimating activities, including project volumes, client requests, acceptance rates, costs, schedules of rates, margins and productivity.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, negotiation and professional service delivery.
• Promote a safe and inclusive workplace, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and contemporary human resource practices.
• Proactively manage team performance, development and conduct.
