Job summary

Synergie Australia is seeking an Estimator for our State Government client in Cairns. You will produce high-quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects, including material lists and construction programs.

The role involves site visits as needed, coordination of condition assessment services, and maintaining a safe, compliant office environment. Australian work rights are required; working mainly in the office with occasional site visits.

Synergie Australia is seeking an Estimator for our State Government client located in Cairns

The important parts:

• Start date: ASAP - 3 month contract with possible extensions
• Supportive and friendly team environment.
• Must have Australian work rights and be a permanent resident (Working Holiday Visa holders need not apply)

What you will be required to do:

• Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations and project trade packages; including material lists and construction programs.
• Coordinate and undertake the delivery of a high-quality condition assessment services for clients, including inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials including collecting samples of suspected asbestos containing materials for laboratory testing.
• Undertake inspection services including tenancy management services and maintenance referrals on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
• Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.

To be successful in the role you will:

• Have previous experience providing quotes and estimates whether as an Estimator in another company or within your own trade work
• Experience using an estimating computer package such as Cost-X
• Have full working rights in Australia
• Have access to reliable transport and ability to get to work and enjoy working mainly within an office (with occasional visits to sites)
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards safety and its importance in every role.
