Job summary

Quantra Project Management is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead tenders across demolition, bulk excavation, shoring, piling and civil works for a Sydney contractor. You will own tender strategy from enquiry through submission and drive preconstruction planning in a growing team.

You will review Geotech, drawings and RFQs, perform take-offs and pricing from first principles, and present at GO/NO GO meetings while mentoring junior estimators.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating with a civil contractor (excavation, shoring, piling or civil infrastructure)
• Strong take-off and first-principles pricing skills
• Solid understanding of ground conditions, plant productivity and civil methodology
• Strong client relationships and a network across Sydney builders and developers, with a track record of winning and growing work

Responsibilities

• Lead tenders from enquiry to submission – take-offs, pricing, methodology and program
• Review tender documents, Geotech reports and drawings and prepare R&O assessments
• Run RFQs, compare subcontractor and supplier quotes, and build accurate estimates
• Be the main point of contact for clients through the tender, from pre-tender meetings to clarifications, negotiations and post-tender follow-up
• Drive business development by building relationships with builders, developers and principal contractors, finding new opportunities and growing repeat work
• Present tenders at weekly GO / NO GO and submission reviews
• Mentor estimators and QS, and help shape how the team works
• Hand over won projects to the delivery team

This is a key role in a growing preconstruction team, with real input into what gets priced, how it's priced, and what gets won.
