Job summary

Amida Recruitment partners with a national Tier 2 contractor in Sydney to recruit an Estimator or Senior Estimator. You will perform quantity surveying, take-offs and pricing from preliminary design data to support bids across Civil, Infrastructure and Defence sectors.

This permanent, full‑time role involves bid management, tender preparation, site visits and pricing model creation, with scope across projects up to substantial values and strong progression opportunities within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or similar.
• 5–10+ years in a similar role with bid management experience.
• Experience in bid/tender documentation and pricing.
• Understanding of risk management.
• Remediation/Defence sector experience is advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to work in a team or autonomously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project and Primavera P6.

Established, national market leading Tier 2 Contractor Extensive project pipeline in Remedial, Facades, Buildings & Defence sectors Excellent career progression and culture, projects range from smaller up to $25m+ Great opportunity working on engineering and remediation projects across Civil, Infrastructure / Utilities, SMP, Piping, Fuel, Buildings, Facades, Water Infrastructure and Defence sectors to name a few. A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join their growing business in Sydney.

You will be responsible for quantity surveying, materials take-offs and design to allow pricing on preliminary design information including prepare and present bid information as part of review and tender presentations.

They work across engineering and remediation type of projects which are generally Civil, Infrastructure / Utilities, SMP, Piping, Fuel, Water Infrastructure and Defence in nature, from smaller up to $25m but may be $100m+, experience with similar projects in these sectors or similar across buildings and infrastructure will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience in Bid Management and preparation of tender documentation

• Experience in the remediation sector and/or Defence is highly beneficial
• A strong commercial acumen
• Ability to work part of a team as well as autonomously
• High level of organisation and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite & MS Project
• Superior knowledge using Primavera P6
• Construction Safety Induction (white/blue) card
• Driver Licence
• Ability to obtain a clear Police Check
