Job summary

Fleetwood Australia is seeking an Estimator to join the Queensland Design & Estimating team and help grow our modular construction project pipeline. You will prepare accurate estimates for education, housing, health, government, defence, and accommodation sectors, collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, Project Delivery and Sales to win and deliver projects.

The role supports ongoing expansion in Queensland, offering exposure to a diverse range of projects and the opportunity to develop

Qualifications

• Experience estimating or a related construction role such as Contract Administration, Project Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Project Coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial acumen and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong Microsoft Excel capability.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates and pricing submissions.
• Undertake quantity take-offs, bills of quantities and first-principles estimating activities.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and commercially sound submissions.
• Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Project Delivery and Sales teams throughout the estimating process.
• Prepare RFQs, scopes of work and pricing documentation for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Analyse project risks, opportunities and cost drivers to support informed decision making.

Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender pricing for modular construction projects, partnering across teams to support project growth.

We're looking for an Estimator to join Fleetwood's Queensland Design & Estimating team and play a critical role in supporting our growing pipeline of modular construction projects.
This role is responsible for preparing accurate and commercially sound estimates for projects across education, social housing, health, government, defence and accommodation sectors. Working closely with Design, Manufacturing, Project Delivery and Sales teams, you'll help assess opportunities, develop pricing strategies and ensure Fleetwood is positioned to win and deliver successful projects.
As Fleetwood continues to grow in Queensland, this role has become increasingly important. You'll be joining a collaborative team during an exciting period of expansion, helping increase estimating capacity and supporting the pursuit of significant project opportunities across the state.
While we welcome applications from experienced Estimators, we're also open to candidates from related construction disciplines who are looking to build a long-term career in estimating. You'll be supported by an experienced team and given the opportunity to develop your technical estimating capability while contributing to real projects from day one.
Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates and pricing submissions.
• Undertake quantity take-offs, bills of quantities and first-principles estimating activities.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and commercially sound submissions.
• Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Project Delivery and Sales teams throughout the estimating process.
• Prepare RFQs, scopes of work and pricing documentation for subcontractors and suppliers.

• Liaise with architects, engineers, project managers, suppliers and clients to clarify project requirements.
• Provide pre-contract estimating support and contribute to successful tender submissions.
• Maintain estimating databases, cost benchmarks and market pricing information.
• Participate in estimate reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating function.

About You

• Experience in estimating or a related construction role such as Contract Administration, Project Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Project Coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

• Experience using CostX or similar estimating software.
• Knowledge of Australian construction methods and building codes.
• Relevant trade, tertiary or industry qualifications.
