Job description

Experienced construction professional overseeing site delivery, safety, subcontractors and quality across diverse projects throughout Queensland.

08th October, 2026

We're looking for experienced Site Supervisors to join Fleetwood's Queensland Construction team and play a key role in delivering modular and mixed-construction projects across education, community infrastructure, government, housing and commercial sectors throughout Queensland.

Reporting to a Project Manager, you'll take ownership of site delivery, coordinating subcontractors, managing safety and compliance, monitoring quality outcomes and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and to budget.

Unlike traditional metro-based construction roles, Fleetwood's Site Supervisors work across a diverse portfolio of projects located throughout Queensland. From regional schools and community facilities to large-scale modular construction projects, no two projects are the same. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, building strong subcontractor relationships and taking pride in delivering successful projects in challenging and rewarding environments.

This role is offered as a 6-month fixed-term contract with a possibility of permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project schedules.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, labour, materials, plant and equipment to support successful project outcomes.
  • Monitor site progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager on programme, quality, safety and commercial performance.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with WHSEQ requirements, project specifications and Fleetwood standards.
  • Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, inspections and safety activities.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, site access, compliance and quality expectations.
  • Complete site documentation including daily diaries, inspections, ITPs, safety records and project reporting.
  • Coordinate site logistics including transport, cranes, deliveries and contractor mobilisation.
  • Identify and resolve site issues, risks and construction challenges proactively.
  • Assist with defect management, commissioning activities and project close-out requirements.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, clients, local authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example in all aspects of site operations.
About You
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Supervisor, Foreman, Leading Hand or similar construction leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, site coordination and subcontractor management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple trades and deliver projects safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health, safety and compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and confidence making decisions independently on site.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel throughout Queensland and work away from home when required.
Highly Regarded
  • Experience supervising education, government, community infrastructure or modular construction projects.
  • Trade qualification in a construction-related discipline.
  • Builder's licence or relevant construction certifications.
  • Experience working on regional or remote construction projects.
  • Experience using WHSEQ management systems such as MYOSH.
  • Experience within modular, prefabricated or off-site construction environments.
Why Fleetwood?
  • Work on unique projects across some of Queensland's most diverse and rewarding locations.
  • Join a national ASX-listed organisation with over 60 years of industry experience.
  • Be part of an experienced construction team delivering projects that make a difference to communities across Australia.
  • Travel opportunities across regional and remote Queensland.
  • Living Away from Home Allowance (where applicable).
  • Vehicle or vehicle allowance provided.
  • Strong possibility of permanent employment following the initial contract period.
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities.
  • Paid parental leave for primary carers and partners.
  • Access to employee benefits, recognition programs and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Flexible salary packaging options including novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions.
  • Be part of an organisation committed to Collaboration, Integrity, Accountability, Safe Together and Innovation.
