SURVEYING SOLUTIONS AUSTRALIA is seeking a Senior Project Surveyor for Mt Fox, QLD. You will lead on-site survey operations, manage 12d models, and supervise junior staff across major civil works and renewable energy projects.

The role requires 8+ years in civil infrastructure, strong Trimble and GNSS capabilities, and excellent communication with project managers and engineers. A driver’s licence and White Card are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Surveying with 8+ years civil infrastructure, major roadworks, or renewables experience.
• Proficient in 12d Model and Trimble Business Center (TBC).
• Strong background running Trimble machine guidance, robotic total stations, and GNSS in remote civil environments.
• Proactive communicator capable of liaising with project managers, superintendents and client engineers.
• RFIs, work scheduling and safety awareness are demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site surveying operations across earthworks, access tracks, turbine hardstands and substations.
• Mentor and direct on-site surveyors and technicians to safety and productivity standards.
• Manage 12d Model projects and machine guidance files; ensure data integrity.
• Deliver rapid conformance turnarounds and end-of-month volume calculations.

SURVEYING SOLUTIONS AUSTRALIA – Mount Fox QLD

Surveying Solutions Australia (SSA) is an established, dynamic surveying consultancy delivering high-precision engineering, civil infrastructure, and major renewable energy projects across North Queensland.

We operate top-tier equipment—including the latest Trimble robotic total stations, GNSS systems, Starlink-equipped field utes, and aerial surveying. We are currently mobilizing for major contract works on the Gawara Baya Wind Farm (Mt Fox) partnering with Symal Infrastructure.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, autonomous Senior Project Surveyor for our major works package at Mt Fox.

You will oversee site survey operations, lead junior field surveyors and technicians, manage all 12d model projects and machine guidance files, and maintain rapid 24-hour conformance turnarounds for client reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Manage on-site survey operations across bulk earthworks, access tracks, turbine hardstands, and substation infrastructure.

Machine Control & Modeling: Prepare, audit, and maintain 3D digital terrain models and machine guidance files (Trimble / 12d Model).

High-Precision Fieldwork: Execute primary geodetic control networks, complex set-out, and QA/QC verification using Trimble total stations and GNSS.

Advanced Data Capture: Coordinate site photogrammetry and aerial LiDAR surveys (DJI M400 / L3) across track corridors and turbine pads.

Conformance & As-Builts: Deliver timely end-of-month volume calculations, cut/fill balances, and as-constructed reports.

Field Supervision: Mentor and direct on-site project surveyors and technicians to maintain safety and productivity standards.

About You

Tertiary qualification in Surveying (Degree or Diploma) with 8+ years of civil infrastructure, major roadworks, or renewable energy project experience.

Demonstrated proficiency in 12d Model and Trimble Business Center (TBC).

Strong background running Trimble machine guidance, robotic total stations, and GNSS systems in remote civil construction environments.
