Job summary

Surveyors Co. seeks an experienced Surveyor to operate across the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions. The role focuses on field surveying, data processing and producing reliable survey information to support project delivery.

Gold Coast-based candidates are preferred, with Brisbane applicants encouraged to apply. The position involves occasional night shifts and travel for set-out across diverse projects in development, construction and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in surveying, geomatics or spatial science is expected.
• Demonstrated competency with Trimble field gear and 12d Model software.
• Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious field work.
• Ability to interpret plans and technical drawings.
• Registration (or eligibility) with SBQ is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform field surveys, set-out and as-constructed surveys.
• Process survey data and generate accurate plans and reports.
• Establish and maintain survey control and benchmarks.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers and clients.
• Ensure surveying work meets project requirements and timelines.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Surveyor to join our growing team, working across a range of projects throughout the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

This is a hands-on surveying role suited to someone who is confident working independently in the field, while also collaborating with project teams to deliver accurate, reliable and high-quality surveying outcomes.

You will work across a diverse range of projects and be responsible for completing field surveying activities, processing survey data and producing accurate information to support project delivery.

Gold Coast-based candidates are preferred, with Brisbane-based applicants also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Technical Expertise: Demonstrated competency using Trimble surveying equipment and 12d Model software is essential.
• Completing set-out, as-constructed and detail surveys as required.
• Establishing and maintaining survey control.
• Preparing accurate survey information, plans, reports and associated documentation.
• Interpreting engineering plans, construction drawings and survey documentation.
• Liaising with project managers, engineers, site personnel, clients and other stakeholders.
• Ensuring surveying work is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
• Maintaining survey equipment and ensuring appropriate field records and documentation are completed.

About you

• Demonstrated competency using Trimble surveying equipment
• Demonstrated competency using 12d Model software
• Ability to work away from home occasionally if required (Monday to Wednesday only)
• Willingness to undertake infrequent night shift work
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ) is highly advantageous
• Relevant qualifications in surveying, spatial science or a related discipline will also be viewed favourably
• The ability to interpret plans, drawings and technical information
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a project team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional and safety-conscious approach to field work
