Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead an iconic rail program, delivering safe, reliable and clean rail services. You will oversee design, production, testing, commissioning and operational integration for the Future Fleet Program, ensuring artefacts meet strategic needs across the rail assets lifecycle.

You will build strong stakeholder relationships, manage concurrent projects, and drive delivery in a challenging urban environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior engineer with extensive knowledge of rolling stock and procurement.
• Proven ability to manage multiple rail projects in complex urban environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills for internal/external partners.
• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent with Chartership/PE encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all engineering functions from design to commissioning for the Future Fleet Program.
• Provide expert domain knowledge and ensure artefacts meet strategic and operational needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
• Manage changes to requirements and govern life-cycle activities across projects.
• Travel occasionally to Newcastle as required.
