Job summary

Transport for NSW's Sydney Metro Engineering Design Assurance team seeks a Senior Manager Engineering to oversee design and safety across multiple disciplines, guiding governance and engineering solutions across the project lifecycle.

Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director ESSA, you will coordinate specialists, respond to reports, manage defects, and drive program and cost estimates while maintaining work-life balance through flexible hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in engineering design management for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in rail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management to build trusted relationships.
• Ability to lead and develop engineers.
• Tertiary qualifications in related engineering discipline.
• Rail safety worker identification per scheme.

Responsibilities

• Engineering management to respond to Project, Enterprise and Board requests and prepare papers.
• Coordinate engineering specialists to respond to project and operation requests on time.
• Support Metro Operations through effective coordination of defect management.
• Develop governance processes and systems across the project lifecycle including operations.
• Provide guidance and delivery using railway engineering knowledge with multi-disciplinary teams.
