Sydney-based, hybrid role for a Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineer leading grid connection studies and GPS development across Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM). The role focuses on utility-scale solar, wind and BESS projects from development through to commissioning and compliance.

You will manage AEMO registration processes, define grid strategies, and provide technical leadership while engaging with NSPs, OEMs and project developers in a multi‑stakeholder environment.

Qualifikationen

• Essential: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Essential: 5–15+ years’ experience in power systems engineering (Senior/Principal/Lead level).
• Essential: Proven experience in grid connection studies and GPS development.
• Essential: Strong knowledge of PSSE and/or PSCAD.
• Essential: Solid understanding of AEMO processes, NER requirements and NSP frameworks; multi‑stakeholder environments.

Aufgaben

• Lead and deliver power system studies for grid connections (load flow, dynamic RMS, EMT).
• Develop and negotiate Generator Performance Standards (GPS) and connection applications.
• Define and implement grid connection strategies for complex hybrid renewable projects.
• Manage AEMO generator registration processes (R1 & R2) and related deliverables.
• Oversee concept design development and provide electrical design input for projects.
• Support or lead commissioning, testing, and model validation activities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Engage with key stakeholders including AEMO, NSPs, OEMs and project developers.
• Advise clients on regulatory requirements, rule changes and ongoing NEM compliance.
