Job summary

Cox Purtell in Sydney (Rosebery) is seeking a Senior IP Networking Engineer for a hands-on, permanent role with APAC responsibilities.

You will resolve complex IP networking issues (TCP/UDP, VLANs, multicast, PTP), mentor engineers across APAC, and collaborate with teams in broadcast and live events technology. This onsite position includes travel and a genuine lead‑in path within the team. Working across APAC for a global leader in broadcast and live event tech.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on IT/IP networking foundation including TCP/UDP, VLANs, multicast and PTP.
• Experience in broadcast, pro-audio or media/OT technology.
• Background as Senior/Principal/Technical Lead with mentoring experience.
• Willing to work across Asia-Pacific and grow into people leadership.
• Hands-on, proactive approach; Salesforce experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on IP networking support on complex customer cases.
• Mentor and support APAC engineers across the team.
• Manage sensitive customer relations such as billing disputes or SLA concerns.
• Engage with Salesforce-based case follow-up and processes.

Senior IP Networking Engineer

We are working exclusively with a world-leading business whose products are used in high-end, large-scale events. Their technology is trusted on the world's biggest stages across broadcast, live events, pro-audio, sports, theatre, and security applications. And despite their global reach, they've retained a local, family feel to their operations in Sydney.

About the Role

This is a Sydney-based, senior technical role supporting APAC customers on complex IP networking issues within broadcast and live event technology, spanning TCP/UDP, VLANs, multicast and PTP. The role is genuinely hands-on: you will work directly on the trickier technical cases and act as a point of escalation, while mentoring and supporting other engineers across the APAC team.

Duties

• Provide hands-on technical support on complex customer cases involving IP networking, including TCP/UDP, VLANs, multicast and PTP.
• Mentor and support engineers across the APAC team, sharing technical expertise and helping resolve escalated issues.
• Step in on sensitive customer relationship matters, such as billing disputes or SLA concerns, as they arise.
• Build familiarity with the team's case follow-up discipline and customer engagement processes through Salesforce.
• Travel periodically to regional offices and training events

Requirements

• Strong, hands-on foundation in IT/IP networking, including TCP/UDP, VLANs, multicast and PTP; Cisco knowledge highly regarded.
• Background in broadcast, pro-audio or media/OT technology.
• A Principal Engineer, Senior Engineer or Technical Lead background, with genuine mentoring experience valued; a formal "Manager" title is not required.
• Comfortable working within a team spread across different cultural contexts, particularly across the Asia-Pacific region, with openness to growing into people leadership over time.
• A hands-on, proactive approach.
• CRM experience, particularly Salesforce, is an advantage
