Job summary

Cox Purtell Staffing Services is sourcing an experienced Network Engineer for a Sydney-based role in infrastructure and network engineering. The role covers international LAN/WAN and security for APAC, with ownership of data centre deployments and firewall design.

The candidate will apply infrastructure as code, perform Unix administration tasks, and report to the Senior Network Engineering Lead. On-site in Sydney, not remote.

About the Role

This is an experienced, hands on Network Engineer role sitting within the Infrastructure and Network Engineering team, supporting the organisation's international LAN, WAN and security environment across APAC. You will work on box across complex campus and data centre networks, playing a central role in supporting data centre deployments across the region. Reporting into the Senior Network Engineering Lead, this is a feeder role for engineers who want deep technical ownership rather than a management track, in an environment where network performance has a direct and visible impact on the business.

Duties

• Deliver on box network engineering support across complex LAN and WAN environments, including hands on configuration and troubleshooting.
• Support the design, build and ongoing management of data centre deployments across the APAC region.
• Design and maintain multi zone, multi tier firewall architecture across the APAC network.
• Apply infrastructure as code methodology to network systems, improving consistency and reducing manual configuration risk.
• Provide Unix systems administration support across network adjacent infrastructure.

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience as a senior network engineer or architect, with proven on box experience across complex LAN and WAN environments.
• Strong campus LAN experience, ideally across Arista and Cisco platforms.
• Practical experience applying infrastructure as code methodology to network systems.
• Experience designing or maintaining multi zone, multi tier firewall architecture across multiple regions.
• Solid Unix systems administration skills.
• This role is based in Sydney and requires an on the ground presence, it is not a remote or regionally based position.
