Service Stream is seeking a Senior Employee Data Officer in Melbourne to join the Transactional Services team. You will maintain the integrity of employee data across the lifecycle and support complex HR data processes.

You will mentor junior staff, balance accuracy with service delivery, and collaborate with Payroll, HR and operational stakeholders in a hybrid work setting (3 days in office, 2 from home).

Job Description Summary

At Service Stream, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for an experienced Senior Employee Data Officer to join our Transactional Services team and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of employee data across the entire employee lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in HR administration, employee data management, or payroll operations who enjoys problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring others while driving service excellence.

About the Role

Location : Melbourne CBD (Collins Street) with a hybrid work arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Work type : full time permanent.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Employee Data Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring employee data is accurately maintained across onboarding, employment changes, transfers, contract variations, and terminations. Acting as a senior member of the team, you'll support the resolution of complex queries, help manage workflow priorities, and provide guidance and mentoring to Employee Data Officers.

Your ability to balance accuracy, compliance, customer service, and continuous improvement will be critical to your success in this role.

• Process and quality-check employee data transactions across the full employee lifecycle
• Ensure employee records are maintained accurately, compliantly, and within agreed service levels
• Act as an escalation point for complex employee data and HR administration queries
• Provide support to employees, managers, Payroll, People & Experience, and operational stakeholders
• Assist in managing ServiceNow ticket queues and workload prioritisation
• Mentor and support Employee Data Officers through on-the-job coaching and knowledge sharing
• Maintain strong data governance practices, documentation standards, and audit readiness
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and service delivery
• Support the achievement of team SLAs and operational objectives

What You'll Bring

• 3-5 years' experience in employee data management, HR administration, payroll operations, or a similar environment
• Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle processes and employment data management
• Experience interpreting and applying Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and legislative requirements
• Proven ability to resolve complex queries while delivering exceptional customer service
• Experience working with HRIS platforms, ideally SAP and/or SuccessFactors
• Exposure to ServiceNow or similar ticket management systems
• Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence communicating with employees and leaders at all levels
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
