Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer – Electrical to join the ACJV team delivering the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone transmission project in NSW, Australia. The role focuses on electrical design coordination, site support, and ensuring safety and quality across energy hubs and substations.

The position is a DIDO roster with 14 days on site in camp and 7 days off site out of the Central West Orana Region, with responsibilities including progress tracking, procurement support, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Preferably 3–7 years’ experience in a Tier 1 Contractor environment.
• Preferably experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above.
• Problem solving / analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attitude and awareness towards safety in the workplace.
• Highly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of all applicable Project policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contractual requirements and legislation relevant to the scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with project personnel and external stakeholders to maintain collaboration.
• Maintain meticulous record management and organize duties.
• Manage time and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
• Attend pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
• Conduct site walks to monitor progress.
• Report downtime and non-conformances per quality procedures.
• Monitor progress and financial performance against budget and targets.
• Ensure commercial deliverables (progress claims, variations, subcontractor claims) are on time.
• Contribute to 3-week lookahead and construction program.
• Implement risk controls to improve safety, financial and engineering performance.
• Maintain clear two-way interface with construction and engineering teams.
