Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer - Electrical to join the Energy Hubs and Substations Teams for the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project in Australia. The role requires strong relationship-building with project personnel and external stakeholders, rigorous planning, and oversight of safety, quality, and schedule performance.

You will work on 90km of 500kV and 150km of 330kV transmission lines, with a roster-based DIDO arrangement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
3 to 7 years' experience in a Tier 1 Contractor environment.
Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above.
Problem solving / analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attitude and awareness towards safety in the workplace.
Highly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills.
Knowledge of project policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of contractual requirements and legislation relevant to the scope.

Responsibilities

Develop relationships with project personnel and external stakeholders to maintain a collaborative environment.
Attend pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, team meetings and construction-related meetings.
Conduct site walks to monitor progression of works.
Ensure downtime and non-conformances are reported and rectified per quality procedures.
Monitor progress and financial performance vs. budget and targets.
Ensure commercial deliverables meet end-of-month reporting requirements (progress claims, variations, subcontractor claims).
Contribute to three-week lookahead and construction program for risk and opportunity.
