Design & Build Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the secondary substation design for HV projects from 66kV to 500kV, based in Brisbane. You will deliver protection and control schemes, relay coordination, and SCADA/RTU integration, reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer.

The role requires 10+ years’ experience, CPEng is preferred, and you will mentor junior engineers while supporting commissioning and technical reviews.

Qualifications

• 10+ years electrical engineering experience.
• Strong secondary substation design experience.
• Experience with protection, control, SCADA and relay coordination.
• Familiarity with Australian Standards and NSP requirements.
• Experience signing off complex designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead secondary design across HV substations 66kV–500kV.
• Develop protection and control schemes, relay coordination.
• Deliver SCADA/RTU integration and protection logic.
• Lead design verification, reviews and engineering sign-off.

Minimum Experience

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 10+ years’ electrical engineering experience
• Strong substation secondary design experience
• Protection, control, SCADA and relay coordination capability
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards and NSP requirements
• CPEng with Engineers Australia
• Experience checking and signing off complex designs
