Job summary

En-Tech Recruitment seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer (High Voltage) to lead testing, commissioning and fault-finding of HV assets across Queensland and Australia. This hands-on role sits within an experienced project delivery team, offering exposure to major infrastructure projects in rail, utilities and renewables.

The successful candidate will have an Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent, proven HV testing experience and familiarity with protection relay testing; OMICRON equipment

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent (Diploma/Advanced Diploma) required.
• Demonstrated experience in high voltage testing and commissioning.
• Strong experience performing secondary protection relay testing.
• Experience using OMICRON testing equipment is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain and commission HV and LV electrical systems across sites.
• Perform secondary injection testing of protection relays.
• Conduct primary testing of transformers, switchgear and instrument transformers.
• Commission new electrical infrastructure and validate system performance.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across complex power systems.
• Inspect electrical assets and prepare technical reports.
• Support design engineers during project delivery.
• Travel periodically to project sites across Queensland and interstate.

Following the award of major rail and transport infrastructure projects, they are expanding their Brisbane team and are seeking an experienced / SeniorHigh Voltage Engineer or High Voltage Technician to support a growing portfolio of technically challenging projects.

Your Opportunity
Working within an experienced project delivery team, you will be responsible for the testing, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of high voltage electrical assets across a broad range of customer sites. This is a hands-on technical role offering exposure to some of Queensland's most significant infrastructure and power system projects. Some Key Responsibilities

• Test, maintain and commission HV and LV electrical systems
• Perform secondary injection testing of protection relays
• Conduct primary testing of transformers, switchgear and instrument transformers
• Commission new electrical infrastructure and validate system performance
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across complex power systems
• Inspect electrical assets and prepare technical reports

• Travel periodically to project sites throughout Queensland and interstate when required

About You
You are passionate about power systems, have a strong understanding of Australian Electrical Standards and enjoy solving technically complex engineering challenges while delivering outstanding outcomes for customers. You will ideally possess:

• Electrical Engineering Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma
• Demonstrated experience in High Voltage Testing & Commissioning
• Strong experience performing secondary protection relay testing
• Experience using OMICRON testing equipment highly regarded

Experience with the below will set you apart from the pack:

• Protection Relays /Instrument Transformers
• Differential Protection /Distance Protection
• Transformers /Switchgear /Circuit Breakers
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, GOOSE Messaging and SCADA Systems
