Job summary

Airswift in Sydney is seeking a Secondary Design Engineer to join its growing power and energy team. You will contribute to complex substation, transmission and utility projects, collaborating with specialists across electrical, power systems and renewable energy disciplines.

You'll work on HV/EHV design, develop protection and control strategies, prepare reports and design deliverables, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; registration pathway encouraged.
• Experience on transmission, distribution or substation projects.
• Knowledge of protection, control, SCADA and AC/DC auxiliary systems.
• Exposure to HV or EHV infrastructure projects.
• Experience preparing calculations, reports and design documentation.
• Knowledge of IEC61850 and digital substation technologies is highly regarded.

• Deliver secondary design solutions for HV and EHV transmission and distribution projects.
• Develop protection and control philosophies, schematics and associated design documentation.
• Prepare technical reports, equipment specifications, cable schedules and design deliverables.
• Coordinate with primary, SCADA, power systems and civil design teams throughout project execution.
• Support feasibility studies, detailed design packages and design reviews.
• Contribute to renewable energy, substation and network augmentation projects.
• Assist with technical due diligence and owner's engineer assignments.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.
