Job summary

Fuse Energy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with 5-10+ years in power, utilities or renewables to own electrical designs for grid-connected assets, solar, BESS and data centre projects in Australia. You will develop substations, protection schemes and single-line diagrams, ensuring safety, compliance and on-time delivery.

Preference for substantial HV experience in the Australian market; you will collaborate with consultants and suppliers, perform testing and energisation, and

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of electrical engineering experience in power, utilities, renewables, or critical infrastructure.
• Strong background in electrical design and HV systems.
• Experience with Australian grid standards, AEMO/NES, DNSP requirements, and AS/NZS electrical standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as electrical SME across grid, solar, BESS, and data centre projects; produce and own electrical designs across the portfolio.
• Deliver detailed design across substations, transformers, switchgear, protection, and power distribution.
• Develop design packages from concept through detailed design: single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, protection schemes, cable sizing, and earthing and bonding.
• Support grid connection works; ensure compliance with standards and validate studies (fault level, load flow, protection coordination, harmonics).
• Provide electrical input from development through handover; align design with procurement and construction; resolve technical queries.
• Support testing, energisation and commissioning; troubleshoot issues; ensure as-builts comply with designs.
