Job summary

SAGE Automation, part of the SAGE Group, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer in Sydney to design and deliver automation solutions for diverse projects. You will work with Siemens PLCs, TIA Portal, and SCADA/RTU systems, delivering robust control solutions and supporting commissioning activities.

You will liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and projects stay on schedule, contributing to a culture of quality and safety within a leading industrial group.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in control systems and automation.
• Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and RTU systems, especially Siemens PLC and TIA Portal.
• Strong commissioning and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication with stakeholders and clients.

Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineer, you will apply engineering concepts, practices, and theories to design technical solutions. You will be accountable for successfully and competently delivering complex engineering solutions for our projects.

In this role you will:

• Design and deliver technical solutions that meet the requirements and scope of the project.

• Support and promptly resolve project issues and changes as they occur.

• Control and track tasks to complete projects within budget and time constraints.

• Work collaboratively and proactively within a team environment at all times.

• Embrace challenges and be a confident problem solver.

Skills & Experience:

• You must have an appropriate Electrical Engineering degree.

• You will have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in control systems and automation.

• Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and RTU systems – specifically Siemens PLC software and TIA Portal.

• You will have strong practical commissioning and trouble‑shooting experience.

• You should be comfortable communicating with key stakeholders and client representatives.
