Job summary

CitiPower and Powercor is seeking a Senior Distribution Design Engineer in Melbourne to deliver high‑quality design and engineering outputs for distribution overhead, underground and substation projects. You will estimate design resources, mentor engineers and drive improvements to meet regulatory and customer requirements.

The role requires extensive experience in distribution design, strong GIS and CAD skills, and registration with Victorian engineering authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) required.
• Registration with BLA and RPEV required.
• NER or RPEng registration required.
• Broad knowledge of distribution design (OH/UG/SUB) and fibre design.
• Strong command of GIS, AutoCAD/Revit and drafting systems.
• 8+ years in distribution design with at least 2 years in technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design, verification and technical assurance of overhead, underground or substation projects.
• Provide technical leadership, governance, design certification and stakeholder engagement.
• Prepare cost and resource estimates for the design component of projects.
• Pursue and implement design innovations and manage change with stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge of GIS, Line design and drafting systems to meet requirements.
• Define complex issues, mentor design staff and solve problems.
