Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) Engineer to join the Water Infrastructure Team in Brisbane. You’ll deliver end-to-end EI&C designs for water projects and lead implementations across local to global programs.

The role requires strong PLC/RTU, HMI/SCADA, and network skills, with a focus on safety and client engagement. Emphasis on mentoring juniors and supporting bids within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical and Control Engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland or eligibility within 6 months.
• Significant EI&C experience with water infrastructure projects.
• Consulting experience or ability to thrive in a challenging consulting environment.
• Technical QA with high-quality deliverables and robust records.
• Strong engineering report writing and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication to build trusted client relationships.
• Proactive, self-managed team player focused on development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technically excellent EI&C designs for water projects across all delivery phases.
• Produce electrical deliverables: load schedules, cable sizing, SLDs, schematics, datasheets.
• Design control systems: PLCs/RTUs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, industrial networks.
• Adhere to AS/NZS3000 electrical design standards.
• Support bids and business development for the wider Jacobs team.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team.
• Promote a safety culture in projects and with clients.
