Job summary

Bravus Mining and Resources’ Carmichael mine in the North Galilee Basin requires an experienced professional to lead and optimise mine planning across short, medium and long term horizons. The role sits within the Integrated Planning function and reports to the Superintendent, providing technical engineering input to operations and planning teams.

You will drive scheduling, design, budgeting and KPI reporting while ensuring safe, compliant operations and strong stakeholder engagement across site

• Lead short, medium and long-term mine planning, scheduling and mine design activities.
• Provide technical advice and engineering support to operations and planning teams.
• Develop drilling and blasting plans and monitor production performance against plan.
• Analyse mining methods, equipment performance and operational data to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Prepare monthly progress claims and support budget and forecasting activities.
• Track and report operational, production and commercial KPIs.
• Build strong relationships with operational teams and stakeholders to achieve planned outcomes.
• Mentor and develop team members while promoting a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.

Job description

Bravus Mining and Resources’ Carmichael mine is an open cut thermal coal mine in the North Galilee Basin, approximately 160 kilometres northwest of the town of Clermont.

Carmichael produces more than 12 million tonnes of thermal coal for the export market each year.

More than 1400 people are engaged in permanent roles at Carmichael and workers travel to site on direct flights from Townsville, Rockhampton, Cairns, or Mackay (a flight time of approximately 55 minutes). Those team members who live in the Isaac region have the option to drive-in and drive-out with individual travel and fatigue management plans in place.

About The Role

Reporting to the Superintendent - Integrated Planning, this position provides technical expertise across short, medium and long-term mine planning while supporting production performance, budgeting, stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
