Job summary

DP World is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to lead the Melbourne Terminal in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. You will ensure exceptional operational performance, safety, financial outcomes and workforce leadership while balancing commercial objectives and stakeholder engagement.

You will manage a highly unionised workforce, drive continuous improvement, and develop leaders across teams to deliver sustained value for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior leadership experience in stevedoring, logistics or similar 24/7 operations.
• Proven track record delivering operational, financial and safety outcomes.
• Strong ability to manage unionised workforces and industrial relations.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen with P&L responsibility and cost discipline.
• Exceptional stakeholder management across internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership of terminal operations to ensure safe, reliable performance across all activities.
• Drive sustainable operational and financial outcomes through performance optimisation and cost discipline.
• Lead industrial relations and maintain constructive relationships with unions and workforce stakeholders.
• Develop leaders and teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement and high performance.
• Strengthen relationships with customers, shipping lines and port authorities to improve service delivery and commercial outcomes.
