Job summary

Pacific National seeks an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to support Intermodal operations. Based in West Melbourne, you will collaborate with operational leaders to strengthen leadership capability, resolve complex people matters and build a workforce ready to deliver safe, reliable services.

This is a visible, permanent full-time role within a large national P&C team, located at the Melbourne Freight Terminal.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior P&C role in unionised environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial relations and employment legislation.
• Proven ability to influence and coach leaders while maintaining trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to improve people management, leadership capability and workforce outcomes.
• Provide practical, commercially sound advice on employee and industrial relations matters, including investigations, grievances, disputes and workplace conduct.
• Coach leaders through challenging conversations and build their confidence to manage people matters effectively.
• Interpret enterprise agreements, awards, policies and employment legislation to support sound decisions and manage risk.
• Support workforce planning, organisational change, talent and succession initiatives that strengthen operational readiness.
• Build trusted relationships with leaders, employees, union representatives and internal partners across multiple locations.
• Work autonomously as the key P&C partner for your stakeholder group while contributing to the broader national team.
